Hey Everyone :) My name is Tracey and I have joined the Painted Turtle Guesthouse team recently as the Marketing and Sales Coordinator. I will be working with group bookings as well as creating exciting new marketing promotions for our very special guests year round. Born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario, and then spent the last 13 years in London, Ontario with my husband, Steve, our collective brood of 4 kids (now aged 20-26… yikes, I am getting old!!) and our two beloved and mischievous golden retrievers named Sunnie and Bogie. Tracey in Banff, ABWe moved to Vancouver Island in October 2008 as part of our travels across Canada (including Banff as the photo shows) and loved the Harbour City of Nanaimo so much, we decided to stay for a good long while. Our long term goal is to buy a boat that is large enough to live aboard and cruise around North America. I already have a few favourite places in Nanaimo and on Vancouver Island: 1)    Love, love, love Departure Bay!! It is a tranquil and serene place to walk the dogs, sit and think or just take in the scenery and watch the ferries come and go from the beach. 2)    Walking along the seawall on the waterfront is one of my favourite things to do on a nice day – or even when it is overcast. You never know what you are going to experience or who you will meet! 3)    Anywhere in Nanaimo when the tide is out! We love to walk in the mucky low tide shores… sniffing around (OK the dogs do that) and we just take it all in 4)    Southern Island – if you have time, spend a day at beach in Cadboro Bay Village. The little community is adorable – good shopping, good eats and the oceanfront locale will take your breath away! 5)    Qualicum Beach – The whole enchilada – the quaint little seaside town, the village people and the beach! Working at the Painted Turtle Guesthouse has given me back that sense of community, friendship and camaraderie that I was missing deeply but expect when you first arrive in a new city and don’t know anyone… PTG is the best kept secret in Nanaimo for now… but not for long ;)
